Aperture

  • Aperture controls the depth of field and amount of light entered at a given shutter speed.
  • Higher apertures give a bokeh effect.

  • At very small apertures, we won't even need a lens. e.g. Pinhole cameras

  • At very high f-stops, diffraction begins to occur
